Our Story
Our flagship musical, BL!NK, has grown from residency beginnings to national recognition, with productions at SheArts Festival, MusicalWriters.com, and Boise Contemporary Theater. It won the 2025 Musical Writers Festival Pitch Competition and is on track for continued development toward a New York concert reading. Our second project, The Wind in the Wildflowers, reimagines The Wind in the Willows through a feminist lens and premiered to sold-out audiences at Boise Contemporary Theater. These projects embody our vision: female-driven musical theatre that is bold, funny, and deeply resonant.
We believe our work reflects what is new and next in the American musical. Audiences are ready for stories written by and for women, yet the canon is still dominated by male voices. Our partnership seeks to fill that gap with musicals that showcase the joy, rage, and humor of women in all their complexity, much like The Barbie Movie proved “girl-powered” stories can become cultural touchstones.
We also bring underrepresented perspectives to the field. Grace writes as a queer, neurodivergent, Romani-American playwright, and Elke writes from her perspective as a young woman forging a career in a male-dominated industry.
Looking ahead, our goal is to build a national career as a writing team, rooted in Boise but connected to collaborators across the country. We want our musicals to be accessible, resonant, and joyful invitations to audiences everywhere.
We write musicals that give women the spotlight they deserve.
Our partnership began in Boise and quickly grew into a creative force. Grace’s sharp, comedic writing recalls the playful irreverence of Cole Escola or Taika Waititi, while Elke’s music grounds the stories in melodic traditions influenced by Sara Bareilles, Kristen Anderson-Lopez, and Taylor Swift. Together, we balance chaos and clarity, irreverence and heart. Grace brings an MFA-trained lens to story architecture, while Elke ensures every musical moment is character-driven and memorable.
